# “The connected wallet does not hold enough funds”

## What your customer sees

"The connected wallet does not hold enough funds for this payment"

## Why

There are two possible causes.

**The customer doesn't have all the funds needed.** For example, they hold 8,000 USDC while the payment requires 8,100. Very often, they have also forgotten the network fees (gas), which are added to the amount and are generally paid in the network's native token (ETH, POL or AVAX). Since the displayed price is an estimate, it can also vary slightly.

**The customer logged in with their email** (or Google, Apple) and not with their wallet. The page therefore can't see their funds and displays a balance of 0. In EURC or USDC, no connected wallet is needed: this cause doesn't apply. In ETH, WBTC, POL or AVAX, connecting the wallet is mandatory.

## What to do

**If the balance is displayed but too low**

1. The customer looks at the "You are missing" line on their payment page: it shows the exact amount to add.
2. They top up their wallet with this amount, adding a margin for network fees, then click "Retry with this wallet". They can also choose another wallet that holds the funds, or exchange another crypto with the two small arrows at the top of the page.
3. Same transaction, same amount: nothing is lost.

**If the displayed balance is 0 (logged in by email)**

1. The customer clicks "Change wallet" in the error message, or logs out at the top left of the page.
2. They log back in with "Connect a wallet", choosing the wallet that holds their funds.
3. Same transaction, same amount: nothing is lost. Only the login method changes.

{% hint style="info" %}
**The right habit:** always plan a little more than the displayed amount. A customer who has exactly the amount, with no margin for network fees, will be blocked.
{% endhint %}

## Alternative

If they can't connect their wallet, the customer can pay in EURC or USDC by sending the amount to the displayed address, without connecting. Here too, they must keep enough to cover the network fees on top of the amount.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.lyzi.io/en/faq/problemes-de-paiement/le-wallet-connecte-ne-detient-pas-assez-de-fonds.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
